no more sleeps to go

the weather is good Sydney Hang Gliding have just confirmed an earlier start time of 1030am to get best winds

a big shout out to my sponsors who have raised $2750 over my original $850= 10 young Carers go on an Urban Expedition

Update 29 January 2014

with 3 sleeps to go  and due to the overwhelming response the target has been raised to cover the final 8 young Carers registered with us. We had planned to use other reserves to ensure no one missed out but now these can be utilised to further support our Young Carers freeing up our tight resources

 Update: Wednesday 22 January 2014

 The initial $850 = 10 Carers experience Urban Expeditions has been reached after 3 days only 

a new target of $2550 = 30 Carers has been set the page will be open passed the Hang Gliding date closing on 14 April 2014 with our young Carers having their Urban Expedition during the Easter School holidays

 To all my supporters I am so encouraged by your generosity and it is also helping overcome the fears of the hang glide

For my upcoming significant birthday , I received a gift voucher to go hang gliding with the  Sydney Hang Gliding Centre. To make sure I make the leap, I decided to do it for a good cause.

My team in Wesley Mission work with a number of young people who care for their parents with a mental illness or a disability.  This can be really difficult at times and does not leave much time for them to enjoy the things that many kids their age do. 

Wesley Mission offers a program through Wesley Vision Valley called Urban Expeditions which is a fun day out (similar to the Amazing Race).  This program costs $85 and I am hoping with each contribution however small when combined one more carer can experience this amazing event.

For me, what these young carers do everyday is much harder than jumping off a cliff. 

Please support me to make this experience possible for many of these kids
